Lyrics

RIVER QUEEN

There's a river

she's the queen

Running from

mountains so clean

Flowing down

white as a bride

People know her

seductive and wild

Still we love

her eternal pulse

We are frightened

when she reminds us

of the power

that she holds

Treat her gently

she's got her own soul

From time to time

the queen is running wild

and sometimes crying

just like a child

From time to time

she decorates

the walls around

and celebrates

One day she became

this raging thing

that no one's ever seen before

Like hell came raining down

from above

What had she become

She tore down the town

while she screamed out loud

Black rain poured down from the clouds

The message was clear

The queen will decide

It's not to be misunderstood

From time to time

the queen is running wild

and sometimes crying

just like a child

From time to time

she decorates

her walls around

and she celebrates

There's a river

she's the queen

Still running from

mountains so clean

She's so beautiful

but she can be mean

Still we love her

She's the river queen

THIS PLACE CALLED LOVE

I still recall, the first words we said
First time we touched
The wine we shared
The dream we built
The life we lived
contains stories that never leave

The views we had, the plans we made
Still holding hands
I’m glad we stayed
When you call my name
I look at you
Now we are here, I know it’s true

Years gone by, we left our traces
More to come, fill in blank pages
Words engraved in the ring of gold
We ended up in this place called love

We got so far, still got pages to write
Pictures and memories
are clear and bright
What might come
I don’t know
All I know, is that I love you so

Years gone by, we left our traces
More to come, fill in blank pages
Words engraved in the ring of gold
Here in this place called love

Years gone by, we left our traces
More to come, fill in blank pages
Words engraved in the ring of gold
We ended up in this place called love

In this place called love

THE ISLAND

Welcome to the island
and life here by the sea
The  path is over where
sun shining through the trees
Take it slow and easy
storms are left behind
Enjoy this place and I believe
you'll find your peace of mind

Stay here if you like
you’re always welcome here
Your spot is anywhere
signed imagineer
When your ship left harbour
luggage in your hand
Don’t need it anymore
step lightly on this land

Island life can let you know
what to keep and best let go
Island life is good for you
sharpens sight for all thats true
Find your ship and be prepared
rules are different when you're here
Kindly see yourself and others
in good time we’re sisters and brothers

We all have an island
waiting for your tide
You’ll find your map behind
a barrier inside
When you are at ease
the course ahead is clear
You can set your sail again
and find a treasure there

Island life can let you know
what to keep and best let go
Island life is good for you
sharpens sight for all thats true
Find your ship and be prepared
rules are different when you're here
Kindly see yourself and others
in good time we’re sisters and brothers

Lyrics

SOMETIMES

Sometimes I sit here and think,
how different life could have been
If I walked the other way,
who knows where I could have been

What if I missed that train,
where would I be today
If I didn’t get out that night,
things could have turned out another way

What if I answered the phone,
who could it be that called
What if I opened that door,
would I enter, or just ignore

Sometimes I think, I’ll never be free
from the choices I made
and thoughts of what could have been
Sometimes I’m certain
Sometimes I just know
I’ve got it all right,
no need to wonder no more

Sometimes I sit here and think,
would it have mattered at all
If I ended up somewhere else,
and I really did answer that call

No one seems to know
the answers, I am looking for
But somehow I let it go
I did my best, I can do no more

Sometimes I think, I’ll never be free
from the choices I made
and thoughts of what could have been
Sometimes I’m certain
Sometimes I just know
I’ve got it all right,
no need to wonder no more

Sometimes I sit here and think

Lyrics

THE HEALER

In this state of confusion,
damn the warnings, I seek her out
Is the healer an illusion?
Moving on, I'm killing doubt

It’s like I've lost my own free will,
like I am led, gives me a chill

Welcome, you've found this place
You have been lost in your own maze
Welcome from years astray
Look in the mirror, don't look away
Don't look away, oh no

I need to break my meditation,
get away from the healer's gaze
I look around in desperation,
tasting terror, feel my heart race

It’s like I've lost my own free will
Like I am led, gives me a chill

Welcome, you've found this place
You have been lost in your own maze
Welcome from years astray
Look in the mirror, don't look away
Don't look away, oh no

If I take your pain away,
for a week, a month or a day
And you do not change your ways
I know it soon comes back to stay

Welcome, you've found this place
You have been lost in your own maze
Welcome from years astray
Look in the mirror
Don't look away

Welcome, you've found this place
You have been lost in your own maze
Welcome from years astray
Look in the mirror, don't look away
Oh no, don't you look away
Don't you look away

Lyrics

THE BOOK

The book is open, the story's there

If you will, you can read it here

All this time, all that we've been through

It still goes on, about me and you

Chapter one was dreams and desire

Our hearts, were totally on fire

We were one, something more than ourselves

The book was sitting quietly, on the shelf

Champagne and parties, it went on and on

No worries, no trouble, it was not yet dawn

We loved, and we laughed, and we lived our dream

Summer turned to autumn floating down that stream

Time went on, chapter seven came along

And suddenly, it all could be gone

Tried to repair with words so gentle

Forgiveness can blow out like a candle

For weeks and months it's all depression

Waiting in darkness for confession

Then carefully slowly, a gentle smile

Lights up your face, and gives me hope for a while

We promise to try, and reach for chapter ten

We're closing the book, and start a new again

And now all can see, the truth in this story,

is you and me

The book is open, the story's there

If you will, you can read it here
